Water Quality: The pH decreased to 6.4 today so I added 250 grams of CaCO3 to raise the pH and alkalinity again. This managed to raise it to 6.6 instead of 6.8, most likely because I waited longer to add it this time around.  So unfortunately looks like the amount of CaCO3 used can’t be reduced any further than it already is for the particular system parameters.

Plant Quality: Today I transplanted one of the magnesium deficient basil crops into its own 5 gallon bucket of nutrient solution. Hopefully the increased volume of nutrients available to the crop will fix the deficiency without adding any supplements.
